Having been made aware of the Council's proposed plans for Twickenham Riverside, I would like to add my support to the Save our Riverside campaign.
I believe the site would benefit the community far more as an open air site where residents and visitors can enjoy socialising and attending events and enjoying this beautiful part of our riverside. The site was originally bought for Twickenham residents to use as open space and it could easily be converted now, keeping the valuable and much used children's playground and cafe and making the rest of the site available for use by the public for entertainment and community events. I believe we should resist the Council's plan to build on it.
We don't need more commercial construction. We do need more open space which is available to the public. That's us. As the Twickenham Riverside Terrace Group has pointed out, once it's built on, we'll never get it back. Let's not let this happen. Join in, sign petitions, contact your councillors - make yourself heard if you want to make a difference.
